Full Description

A rapid coastal zone assessment survey was conducted by GUARD in the Autumn of 1997 commissioned by Historic Scotland from the Viking and Early Settlement Archaeological Research Project based at the University of Glasgow.

On a generally sloping grassy area, between crags and the rocky beach, there are at least five cultivation strips, possibly rigs, aligned NE-SW down the slope. They are about 4 m wide and 32 m long. They are being eroded by the sea at the edge of the grassy cliff. <1>
