Full Description
A rapid coastal zone assessment survey was conducted by GUARD in the Autumn of 1997 commissioned by Historic Scotland from the Viking and Early Settlement Archaeological Research Project based at the University of Glasgow.
Through wooded land following the east bank of the River Hope to Inverhope and the deserted settlement at the north of that is a pathway which has been revetted along certain stretches of its course at both the riverside and at the upslope, inland side. This path is up to 1.5-2 m wide and the ground has been built up in places to create a level surface. <1>
