Full Description
A rapid coastal zone assessment survey was conducted by GUARD in the Autumn of 1997 commissioned by Historic Scotland from the Viking and Early Settlement Archaeological Research Project based at the University of Glasgow.
On a grassy bracken-covered slope above a sandy beach on the west side of the Kyle of Tongue is an area of clearance or tumble, which is piled on the south end of a field-wall. Beneath this wall there appears to have been an earlier wall going down-slope, this being much lower and in a more ruinous state than the rest of the wall to the north beyond the tumble. The site is suffering from natural slumping and tumble. <1>
