Full Description
A rapid coastal zone assessment survey was conducted by GUARD in the Autumn of 1997 commissioned by Historic Scotland from the Viking and Early Settlement Archaeological Research Project based at the University of Glasgow.
Cut into the slope of a raised-beach is an oval scoop measuring 7 m NW-SE by 4.5 m, which has a flat interior base 3 m wide. There is stone visible at the NW up-slope side, which may be revetment. This area is defined on three sides by the slope it is cut into and is open on the south side. <1>
