Placename Annat would indicate the site of an "old chapel" by the early medieval period - HAW 05/2005

This name applies to the site of an old chapel situated in the grave-yard near 'Annat'. Nothing is known regarding the date of its erection, neither when disused.
Name Book 1875.

There is no trace or local knowledge of this chapel nor has the gravedigger (Mr Murdo MacKenzie, Annat) ever found any remains of its foundations. The graveyard has recently been extended and is still in use. Visited by OS (J M) 20 May 1974.
