Full Description
The site, as described by the previous field investigator, is too amorphous for certain classification. Apart from two or three stones exposed, which form no distinctive pattern, there is no evidence for an earlier cairn.
Visited by OS (J B) 17 March 1982.
Shepherd's Cairn (NAT) OS 6" map, (1963)
Situated on rising ground is a small shepherd's cairn around which is a disturbed area about 6m in diameter. In this disturbed area are a number of large stones. Two of them at least are earthfast and appear to form part of a segment of a possible kerb on the SW side. It is possible that this is the site of an earlier, possibly sepulchral, cairn.
Visited by OS (J L D) 11 April 1961.
