Date

Description

As part of the Historic Scotland Human Remains Call-Off Contract, Glasgow University Archaeological Research Division (GUARD) carried out an archaeological evaluation of a site at Lothbeg, Brora, where the skeleton of an adult male had been recovered by police in the summer of 1999. A second skeleton, that of an immature individual of indeterminate sex, was recovered by GUARD along with some disarticulated bones, immediately to the south of the first skeleton. The burial was oriented and may have been placed in a shroud. Further excavation in the immediate vicinity revealed no further burials. <1>
