EHG1646 - Walkover survey and DBA - Inverness Airport Access Road EIA

Technique(s)

Organisation

SUAT Ltd

Date

July 2002

Description

A desk-based assessment and walkover survey was carried out for the route of a proposed new access road from the A96 to Inverness Airport by SUAT in 2002. A number of sites mainly dating to the post-medieval period, including roads and farmsteads were noted during the DBA on the basis of a map regression exercise though some had been lost since, especially during the development of the airport, and some lay outside the line of the proposed access road. A series of recommendations were included which set out proposed mitigation and/or excavation and recording strategies for each of the sites/features identified. <1>
