Organisation

Headland Archaeology Ltd

Date

Feb-June 2018

Description

An auger survey and watching brief were undertaken by Headland Archaeology in 2018 prior to the construction of a five-turbine wind farm at Achlachan near Watten. The auger survey was undertaken to assess the potential of below-ground archaeological deposits. A watching brief was undertaken during the groundworks for construction of the access roads, crane bases and turbine bases. The peat depths recorded during the watching brief corresponded to the depths recorded in the auger survey. No features of archaeological interest were observed during the construction works. <1>
