EHG6055 - Trial trenching - former Jemimaville Church

A trial trenching evaluation was carried out by AOC Archaeology Group in 2023 within the ruin of The Old Church, Church Street, Jemimaville. The works were required as a condition on the planning consent for the proposed construction of a new house with heat source pump. The evaluation (and building recording - see EHG6054) was carried out between 26th April and 2nd May 2023 in dry and bright conditions. The evaluation trenches revealed structural features associated with the church, such as foundations and areas of paving, but no other features were identified. No further archaeological works are proposed in association with this development. <1>
