Full Description

A number of structural remains in this area suggest the presence of a former settlement or farmstead. This was probably associated with the curvilinear field system(s) described under MHG27720 and MHG52525. None of these structural remains are depicted on the 1st edition or later Ordnance Survey mapping, suggesting that the buildings had long been out of use at the time of the survey. The stone was more than likely re-used, perhaps in the building of the large square enclosure and farmstead to the south-west. <1>
