A 2 m high stone cairn at the north end of the tidal islet Eilean Dubh. The stones at the base are lichen covered and larger than those at the top which may have been added later. This is possibly a modern navigation cairn. <1>
Small oval cairn, c 2.7 m diameter and 1.2 m high. Appears to be composed mostly of recently deposited stone, but partly turf-covered stones visible around edges at base suggests it has an earlier component.
On level ground at N end of island, just above crags by shore. Under short turf with apparently thick sand beneath.
N-facing across Balnakeil Bay and open sea.
Navigational marker.
