Full Description

NH07NE 2 centred on 090 785.
In area centred at NH 090785, at confluence of the Abhainn Loch an Nid and the Allt Eighidh, there is a depopulated settlement, comprising extant remains of 8 rectangular dry-stone buildings, max height 1.3m, the grass-covered footings of a further 3 buildings, 2 small enclosures, max height 0.8m, and several field banks, max height 1m. Evidence of lazy beds can be seen and 2 sheep fanks have also been built here. No name is known locally.

Three unroofed buildings and a length of head-dyke are depicted on 1st edition of OS 6-inch map (Ross-shire and Cromartyshire 1881, sheet xlvii). 12 unroofed buildings, an unroofed structure with attached walls, a field and 2 lengths of head-dyke are shown on current edition of OS 1:10560 map (1968).
