Date
March 1999
Description
Various small parcels of land beside the Kintradwell Burn were the subject of a WGS application. Archaeological survey took place covering a single area c.15ha which occupied the steep south-facing slope of Creagan Mor at 300 to 800ft above sea level. Only one archaeological site had previously been recorded. The survey area was systematically walked by a team of two archaeoloigsts and all features of archaeological interest were identified and described. The features were located by triangulation from local mapped reference points. One group of features was recorded partially within the survey area, consisting of a few cairns and a structure associated with the settlement of Braeval. The cairns which were previously thought to extend into the area were found to lie entirely outside. <1>
