EHG1327 - Walkover survey - proposed new house at Coirshellach, by Bonar Bridge

Technique(s)

Organisation

Stuart Farrell

Date

April 2005

Description

A walkover survey was undertaken by S Farrell in 2005 at Coirshellach, above Bonar Bridge in advance of the construction of a new house and associated services, including a septic tank outfall and electricity supply. A previously unrecorded hut circle adjacent to the two known hut circles was found but no trace of the field system and clearance heaps as previously noted was seen, there were a few mounds close to the hut circles but all looked natural. Part of the area had seen use for recent peat cutting. A watching brief was also later carried out at the site - see EHG2897. <1>
