Trial trenching took place in connection with a proposed retail development and associated works. Twenty four trial trenches were excavated, amounting to 2500m2 (c.7%). A number of pits and a series of undated linear features thought to be cultivation remains, probably furrows from rig-and-furrow cultivation, were identified. <1>
