Description

An archaeological walkover survey of the proposed site for a hydro scheme at Allt Dearg, near Achterneed, Strathpeffer. The survey was undertaken on 31st May 2017. A small group of sites centred around a post-medieval sheep fank were identified and recorded, comprising a sheep fank, boundary wall, the remains of a possible structure, and a borrow pit/quarry. None of these sites will be impacted upon by the hydro scheme development. No further archaeological work is recommended. <1>
