EHG57 - Walkover Survey - Couldoran Estate
Technique(s)
Organisation
Jill Harden
Date
December 1997
Description
This rapid archaeological assessment covered the area proposed for a Woodland Grant Scheme of Couldoran Estate, just north of Kishorn, Wester Ross. The survey was undertaken of days in December, by which time the bracken was dead but still extremely dense in places. Due account should therefore be taken of the possibility that archaeological features may be found as planting operations are undertaken in areas of bracken. The area north of the Allt Mor gorge was walked separately to that south of the gorge, for practical reasons. Photographs were taken of the sites recorded, to aid identification in advance of woodland operations. <1>
