Gairloch Community Timeline
ARCH Community Timeline courses provide an overview of local heritage, and then allow participants to research a site, building, feature, find, placename traditions or any other aspect of their local heritage which is of interest. In many cases, this results in new information, photographs or updated references for the HER. In addition, each course produces a local display and a binder with extra information.

The project resulted in nine new records for the HER:
New bridge, Little Gruinard River
SSPCK School at Lonemore, Gairloch
House (Lordy's Ruin), Croft 59, Lonemore
Findspot of stone lamp from Shieldaig
Two Scotland's Rural Past projects, Lonemore township and Port Henderson, have taken place in this area and selected information has been submitted as part of the Community Timeline course. Work is ongoing to get the full results from both these projects into the HER.
The many other highlights include photographs of what is probably the earliest farm building in Wester Ross (one of the earliest surviving examples in Scotland), a cinema used by forces stationed at Aultbea during the Second World War, and pictures of artefacts on display at Gairloch Museum including a Bronze Age carved stone ball.
