EHG3060 - Walkover survey - proposed Fairburn Windfarm, Dingwall
Technique(s)
Organisation
AOC Archaeology Group
Date
Apr-June 2008
Description
An archaeological walkover survey was conducted by AOC Archaeology Group in 2008 prior to the construction of a windfarm at Fairburn, near Dingwall. The area had previously been surveyed in 2005, also by AOC Archaeology Group, but no new sites were recorded at that time (see EHG1284). During the re-survey a number of isolated features were recorded including a possible shooting butt, the remains of two boundary walls and a short linear alignment of large boulders. <1>
NOTE: The short linear alignment noted during the survey was found not to be archaeological on excavation (see EHG3061).
